Tailoring & Alteration Service 

At Jim Markey Mans Shop we pride ourselves on the quality of service we offer our customers including our in-house tailoring and alteration service from our own professional tailor, David Campbell. 
 
David has over 50 years experience as a tailor and has been with Jim Markey Mans Shop since the store opened in 1978. David is a perfectionist and his passion and dedication to his profession will ensure you get a first class service whether it is a simple alteration or a bespoke made to measure suit for that special occasion. 
 
With David's workshop above the store we offer a same day alterations service on all our garments. For your convenience we also offer both ladies and gents alteration services on all garments. 
Bespoke Suits and Jackets. 
 
At Jim Markey’s we can create the perfect outfit made to your individual measurements and specifications for any occasion from business suits to formal and occasion-wear. With our made to measure service you can choose your own fabric from a wide range of high quality cloths. From this we will make you the finest bespoke suits and made to measure jackets and trousers. Online Purchases and Alterations 
If purchasing from our online shop please read below to see what alterations are provided and how to avail of this service, please be aware that it may affect your statutory rights as regards returning items. 
 
How to get a garment altered: 
1. Check that the garment can be altered. 
 
Where alterations are possible, we will specify them on the page for that garment. Some alterations are free, however we cannot alter a garment unless you contact us first. All alterations must be pre-agreed and pre-paid for. 
2. Call us first with details of the alteration. 
 
Please do not order the garment online - instead contact us to discuss your requirements or fill out the form below and we will contact you. Once payment has been received by us, we will proceed with the alteration and ship the altered garment to you. Shipping will apply at the same rate as if you bought the garment online.

Can I have the garment altered if it has already been shipped? 
Certainly, provided you purchased the garment from Jim Markey Mans Shop and largesizes.ie, the garment is in good condition and the garment is alterable. Please contact us on on 01 837 1168 or email us at info@largesizes.ie first as we can only alter garments that are pre-agreed and pre-paid for. We will then send you an email confirming the alterations agreed, the address for you to send the garment to, and an invoice covering the cost of the alteration and the shipping back to you once the garment has been altered. 
 
Please note that we are in no way liable for the condition and delivery of the garment from you to us. Please take the usual sensible precautions such as insurance or parcel tracking so that if the garment does not arrive to us, or arrives to us in a damaged condition, you can recoup your loss from the delivery service that you used. 

Can I have the garment altered in person? 

If you're in Dublin, or happen to be visiting, our shop is 9 minutes from Dublin Airport and conveniently located just off the M50 with car parking facilities. You can drop in with your garment any time and have the alterations done in-house. To avoid any delays please first inform us of your visit. We are happy to do certain alterations for free. We can only accept a return on an altered garment if we got something wrong.
